To the Editor,
Recently we’ve been told by the Democrat-Left that financial success in the U.S. is due to ‘white privilege,’ meaning whites are better-connected and therefore earn more; non-whites are poorly treated and earn less.
But my experience with successful whites and Blacks disagrees: The difference in earning isn’t skin color, but adherence (or not) to the following middle-class values: (1) graduate from highschool, take a job, and keep at it;(2) marry only after high school graduation and employment; no children out of marriage; (3) stay sober, avoid idleness, criminals, and addiction.
People, white or Black, who abide by these simple rules are more likely to be high-earners.
