Woman sentenced after Clemmons murder over drug deal

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman was sentenced to multiple years in prison on Monday for her involvement in a shooting death in Clemmons, according to a statement released by Forsyth County District Attorney James O’Neill.

Alexandra Patton pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

On Jan. 8, 2024, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out to the 6000 Block of Blue Bonnet Lane in Clemmons.

Damilyon Raekwon Monroe, 21, was found dead in the road. An autopsy showed that his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Detectives interviewed witnesses on the scene and learned that Monroe was on the street that afternoon selling drugs illegally.

Patton spoke to Monroe on social media to arrange the drug sale.

Witnesses gave detectives a description of the vehicle that arrived on the scene to meet with Monroe, and witnesses then reported hearing two gunshots and car doors slamming and described a male with red hair and a red hooded sweatshirt leaving the scene.

Detectives identified the driver of the suspect vehicle. She told detectives and deputies that she had picked up Patton and another co-defendant and driven them to meet with Monroe.

She also said that the co-defendant got out of the vehicle once they arrived at Blue Bonnet Lane, and there was a fight over the pills between Monroe and the co-defendant.

Patton stayed in the vehicle during the fight.

The driver of the vehicle told investigators she heard a gunshot and then drove off, leaving the co-defendant behind.

Patton then told the driver to pick up the co-defendant at a nearby shopping center after the murder.

Patton received a sentence of a minimum of 51 months (four years and three months) and a maximum of 74 months (six years and two months) of active imprisonment for her part in the murder of Monroe
