Thunderstorms headed to Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — Thunderstorms across eastern North Carolina will begin to back up and move into the Piedmont.

It will be cloudy and cooler on Friday with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs on Friday will be in the lower 80s. The chance of rain is 70%. There’s a chance rain could be heavy east of the Triad.

The moisture surge will move out on Saturday, leaving us with partly cloudy skies. Saturday will be warm and muggy with highs in the lower 90s. The chance of rain is 30%.

It will be mostly sunny on Sunday and Monday. It will be hot and humid with highs in the middle 90s.

It will be hot and muggy on Tuesday as well with highs in the mid to perhaps upper 90s. The chance of rain is 20%.

An approaching cold front will increase our rain chances on Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances will increase to 50% by Thursday. Highs on Wednesday will be in the middle 90s. Highs on Thursday will be around 90 degrees.
