UPDATE
The suspect, 22-year-old Chris Jones, is now in custody in connection with a shooting on UVA grounds that left 3 dead and 2 injured, according to the Henrico County Police Division.
Authorities say he was taken into custody without incident in the 5700 block of Edgelawn Street in Henrico County.
According to Henrico County officers, a patrol bureau was working overnight in the search for Jones, who was believed to be driving.
This morning, an officer located the vehicle in Henrio’s eastern area of the county, police say.

Henrico Police is currently assisting UVA Police with this part of the active investigation.

Multiple police agencies and a Virginia State Police helicopter are searching for a suspect they say is armed and dangerous after a shooting at UVA that left three people dead and two injured.
“As of this writing, I am heartbroken to report that the shooting has resulted in three fatalities; two additional victims were injured and are receiving medical care. We are working closely with the families of the victims, and we will share additional detail as soon as we are able,” said Jim Ryan, UVA president.
UVA police say the suspect, Chris Darnell Jones could be wearing a burgundy jacket, jeans and red shoes. He may be driving a black SUV with VA Tag TWX3580. Jones is a student at UVA, according to the university president.
At about 10:30 a.m., the shelter-in-place order was lifted at UVA.
Officials said residents should expect an increased police presence as they search on and around UVA grounds.

The shooting was reported on Culbreth Road, police tweeted.
University Transit Service routes are suspended at this time. UVA Health Commuters are asked to park in South Garage or 11th Street Parking Garages.
“This is a message any leader hopes never to have to send, and I am devastated that this violence has visited the University of Virginia,” said Ryan. “This is a traumatic incident for everyone in our community, and we have canceled classes for today (Monday, Nov. 14). At this point only designated essential employees should report to work on Monday (all remote employees should continue to work remotely). If you are unsure of your status, please contact your supervisor.”
Shortly after 6 a.m., Gov. Glenn Youngkin posted to his Twitter account about the shooting, offering sympathy and urging residents to shelter in place.
