Surry Early HOSA Club competes at state meeting

Surry Early College Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) Club recently attended the 2023 NC HOSA State Leadership Conference in Greensboro.

Ten early college HOSA students attended the conference where they participated in testing and competitive events, and also attended expos and an educational symposium. The local HOSA group was recognized as a Gold Star Chapter and six members were recognized for placing in the Top 10 for their events at the state level.

Those being recognized were: Tina Beasley HOSA sponsor, Gold Star Advisor recognition; Jordin Beasley, top 10 ATC Anatomy and Physiology; Ben Sain, third place ATC Biochemistry and top 10 Biotechnology; Saylor Jennings and Maddison Grimes: top 10 CERT Skills; and Jasmin Ruiz-Vazquez: fifth place medical spelling
