South Boston man charged after stabbing man, injuring woman at Dollar General, police say

A South Boston resident has been arrested after stabbing another man multiple times and injuring a woman at a Dollar General Sunday, according to the South Boston Police Department.

On Sunday, June 4, around 4:45 p.m. police said they responded to the Dollar General on Halifax Road the report of an assault.

When officers got to the scene, they found a 24-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times and a 45-year-old woman who was also injured.

The 24-year-old man was sent to the hospital for treatment, according to police. Authorities said the woman’s injuries did not require immediate medical attention.

Just after the incident, SBPD said officers arrested 52-year-old Quentin Younger of South Boston and charged him with malicious wounding and strangulation. According to court records, Younger is also facing a robbery charge.

Younger is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail with no bond, according to police. His court date is set for June 20, 2023, according to the jail.
