Police investigating shots fired in Roanoke outside the Berglund Center

Roanoke police are responding after shots were fired outside the Berglund Center on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. and while 10 News witnessed a person being loaded into an ambulance, it’s unclear if anyone was hit by the reported gunfire.

Currently, about a dozen police officers are still at the scene, which they said is not an active shooter situation.

At the time of the shooting, William Fleming High School was holding its graduation practice inside the facility. All those inside the building are safe and accounted for.
