‘One-Pot Wonders’ cooking class planned

DOBSON — A solution is at hand for local residents seeking to enjoy quick, easy and delicious meals they can eat without feeling guilty, and not leaving a big mess behind in the kitchen with piles of dirty dishes.

A “One Pot Wonders” cooking class will be coming to the rescue Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension/Surry County Center in Dobson.

The focus will be on one-pot meals with an emphasis on recipes suitable for individuals with pre-diabetes or diabetes.

Wednesday’s class will be led by Carmen Long, an area Extension agent for family and consumer education, and Kelly Whittington, a diabetes educator with Surry County Health and Nutrition Center.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. This can be arranged by calling the N.C. Cooperative Extension/Surry County Center at 336-401-8025.

The Surry County Center is located at 915 E. Atkins St., Suite 300.
