One person hurt, puppy missing after two Southeast Roanoke house fires

Firefighters responded to scene of a two-alarm fire in Southeast Roanoke on Tuesday morning.

They arrived shortly after 11:15 a.m. to find two homes in the 100 block of 10 1/2 Street SE on fire, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

One person is hurt with a non-life-threatening injury and taken to a hospital, according to the fire department.

One dog and five puppies were rescued from the home by the resident; however, one puppy remains unaccounted for.

The fire is not considered under control yet at crews are still working on hot spots.
