NW Roanoke shooting leaves three teens hospitalized

UPDATE:

Three teens were hospitalized after a shooting in Northwest Roanoke Friday night, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

On Friday, Feb, 3, around 8:35 p.m., police said they received reports of a person with a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of 22nd Street NW.

While officers were on their way to the scene, another call came about at least one other victim being transported to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

Responding officers found a teen inside a home with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to RPD. We’re told Roanoke Fire-EMS took that teen to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officers also responded to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for the second call, where they found two more teens, both with what appeared to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the back of a personal vehicle, police said. They were taken inside the hospital for treatment.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, preliminary investigation shows that all three teens were injured at the 22nd Street NW address, where officers found evidence of a shooting.

Police said no suspects were found at the scene and no arrests have been made.

On Friday night, RPD told 10 News there were only two teens involved in the shooting, as we reported below.

Two teens were sent to the hospital after a shooting in Northwest Roanoke Friday night, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

We’re told the shooting happened at 8:35 p.m. on 22nd Street NW between Carroll Avenue and Mercer Avenue.

The two boys, who are in their teens, were taken to a hospital for their non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

RPD said no suspect has been identified at this time, but they have no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
