North Carolina man wins $1 million after buying $30 scratch-off at gas station

DENVER, N.C. (WGHP) — Tyler Gragg, of Connelly Springs, bought a $30 scratch-off and won a $1 million prize.

He bought his winning Millionaire Maker ticket from Murphy Express on N.C. 73 in Denver.

He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000.

He chose the lump-sum amount of $600,000.

After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $427,509.
