Meadowview Magnet science fair winners named

Meadowview Magnet Middle School recently held its annual science fair, with 43 projects entered or exhibited, representing the work of 58 students.

Eighth grader Lukas White received first place, seventh grader Caden Ward received second place, seventh grader Dare King received third place in the overall school competition

Seventh graders Aaron Turok and Samera Fosner received fourth place, seventh grader Olivia Montgomery received fifth place, seventh grader Audrey Collins received sixth place, seventh grader Easton Hiracheta received seventh place, and eighth grader Ryland Taylor received honorable mention.

The science fair was coordinated by sixth grade teacher Kasey Bowman. She invited several members from the community to judge the event. They spent the day reviewing and discussing all submitted science fair projects with students. Our science fair judges were Gary York, representing WIFM Radio, Melissa Atkinson, representing Surry County Schools Board of Education, Tina Beasley, representing Northern Regional Hospital, Brooke Johnson, representing Scenic Motors, Jimmie Johnson, Meadowview SRO, and Anna Draughn, representing Nester Hosiery.
