SPINDALE, N.C. (WSPA) – A man accused of human trafficking was apprehended Monday in Spindale.
The Spindale Police Department said 40-year-old Milo Jamemall Henderson was booked into custody after he was located at a residence off of Courtland Street.
According to police, an investigation was initiated in January when officers were contacted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation about Henderson being in city limits.
Officers learned that Henderson was wanted in Buncombe County for his connection with a human trafficking ring.
With the assistance of the Forest City Police Department and the NCSBI, Henderson was located and charged with the following:
- Human trafficking on an adult (two counts)
- First-degree kidnapping
- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury
- Assault by strangulation
- Sexual servitude adult victim (two counts)
- Promote prostitution (two counts)
Police said Henderson remains in custody at the Rutherford County Detention Center with no bond.
