Driver not found after car overturns in Interstate 77 crash in North Carolina

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Officials were unable to find a person following a wreck that left a car upside-down, according to the Huntersville Fire Department.

Crews responded around 11 p.m. on Saturday to a wooded area near Exit 23 (Gilead Road) of I-77 and found a single vehicle overturned.

Officials say no driver or patients were found after an extensive search that included looking inside and under the vehicle.

It is unknown at this time what led up to the crash and if any other vehicles were involved.
