Deputies seeking information about attempted abduction in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Deputies are looking for information after a child reported nearly being abducted while waiting for the bus.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating a report of an attempted abduction they received on Monday.

The juvenile victim was waiting for the bus on Feb. 12 when a man driving “a larger size white truck” waved. The victim waved back and the man allegedly stopped the truck, got out and grabbed the victim by the wrist.

The child broke free and ran up the driveway and the man drove away. The victim was not hurt.

Anyone who was in the area of Burch Bridge Rd. and Sharpe Rd. in Burlington on February 12 or otherwise has any information, is asked to call the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 570-6300 or CrimeStoppers at (336) 229-7100.
