Students are being asked to avoid a part of Virginia Tech’s campus due to a gas leak, according to the university’s Twitter account.
Officials say the leak is near Kelly Hall at the intersection of Barger and Stanger Streets.
A VT Alert was issued at 10 a.m. to the Blacksburg university community alerting of the leak.
Out of an abundance of caution, the university evacuating the following buildings:
- Art and Design Building
- Durham Hall
- Femoyer Hall
- Kelly Hall
- Major Williams Hall
- McBryde Hall
- Military Building
- Old Security Building
- Performing Arts Building
- Shanks Hall
In addition, Barger and Stanger Streets are currently closed to accommodate the response.
