Calls for service double amid snowfall in the Piedmont, state troopers say

NORTH CAROLINA (WGHP) — Several crashes and other weather-related closures have impacted traffic through the Triad and other parts of North Carolina as the first snow of the season made landfall.

One North Carolina State Highway Patrol troop says that their calls for service had doubled their usual amount by just noon on Tuesday.

Whit Efird, Master Trooper of NCSHP Troop E, says that his troop had 210 calls for service as of 12 p.m. Tuesday. That amount is more than double their usual calls for service on any given day.
