Authorities searching for ‘armed and dangerous’ man after robbery in Botetourt County

The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man considered armed and dangerous after he reportedly robbed a convenience store at knifepoint early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 5 a.m., deputies were called to the Circle K in the 2700 block of Lee Highway for the reported armed robbery.

Authorities say the suspect entered the store brandishing a bowie knife and took a minimal amount of money and cigarettes.

Then, he left in a white 2020 Kia Forte displaying a Virginia registration of UMD-1728, a vehicle that has been reported stolen out of Loudoun County, Virginia, according to Botetourt County deputies.

In the report, investigators described the man as 5 feet, 7 inches, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, white and black skull cap, blue hospital mask and faded skinny jeans.

The sheriff’s office did not provide any photos of the suspect.

Deputies urge anyone who sees the suspect’s vehicle to call 911 immediately and not approach it.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Levi Hosey at 928-2243.
