Authorities identify remains in burned-out SUV as Bedford County missing man

We now know that a missing man case and murder case spanning two different counties are connected.

On Oct. 22, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office announced it was searching for 45-year-old Carlos Rose who was reported missing out of the Boonsboro area on Oct. 20.

Appomattox County Sheriff Donald Simpson announced Wednesday that Rose’s remains were found inside a burned-out SUV found on Oct. 21.

So far in this case, one person has been arrested and two men have been identified as persons of interest.

One of those men, Enrico Moss, is in custody out-of-state on unrelated charges.

On Wednesday morning, authorities released a clearer picture of the other person of interest.

Several law enforcement agencies are working to find a person who was reported missing out of Bedford County.

45-year-old Carlos Rose was reported missing out of the Boonsboro area on Tuesday, according to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office could not comment on whether or not this investigation is related to the body found in Appomattox County.

The investigation is ongoing. The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office and other surrounding jurisdictions are working closely with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office to locate Rose.
