An assault and battery charge that a town council candidate filed against the Rocky Mount assistant town manager last year has been dismissed, according to court records.
As we’ve reported previously, the candidate, Phillip Bane, pressed charges against Mark Moore in Oct. 2022.
A video of the incident, which was obtained by WSLS 10 when it happened, shows Bane blocking Rocky Mount Town Manager Rob Wood’s car door from closing.
The two exchanged words while Moore recorded the interaction. He then steps in between Bane and Wood.
In the video, you can see that Moore’s back is to Bane and he remained there until the police arrived.
