Eighty-one-year-old Kenneth Russel Jordan, who was reported missing after leaving a Blacksburg rehab center on foot on Monday afternoon, was found dead, according to Blacksburg Police.
Heritage Hall officials say after Russel left voluntarily, the staff launched a full search in accordance with the facility’s operation plans, and a full search was conducted.
According to center officials, Radford Police notified the facility on Thursday afternoon that Jordan was located, and had also passed.
”Our staff and our residents are all deeply saddened by this unexpected loss of one of our own. Our hearts are with the family, friends, caregivers, and loved ones who are all now processing this news and mourning the passing of our dear friend and neighbor,” the center said in a statement.
On Friday afternoon, Blacksburg Police confirmed to 10 News that, to their knowledge, the man was found dead.
The Blacksburg Police Department has located the missing 81-year-old man who was last seen on Monday afternoon.
Details surrounding the incident, including if the man is safe, weren’t immediately clear.
Police said Jordan walked from Heritage Hall at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
On Thursday evening, after Jordan was found, Heritage Hall released a statement in regard to a resident who voluntarily left the facility.
In the statement, the center said that police notified them that the resident had been found dead. Heritage Hall did not name the resident in their statement.

The Blacksburg Police Department is searching for a man who left a rehab center in Blacksburg on foot Monday afternoon.
Eighty-one-year-old Kenneth Russel Jordan walked from Heritage Hall at about 3:30 p.m. and is believed to be wearing blue jeans and a ball cap, while using a walker to get around, according to Blacksburg Police.
Authorities don’t know where he may be headed but said there was a possible sighting near Laurel Street in Christiansburg. Police said
Russel has connections to Shawsville, Riner and Christiansburg, with possible interest in the Radford area, police said.
We’re told Jordan requires daily medication.
