WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is dead and another is in critical condition after an argument in an apartment led to a shooting.
Officers responded to Sedgefield Apartments on Country Club Road just before 1 a.m. about a shooting. When they arrived, there were several people in the apartment, and three men had been shot.
Saveyon Raymond Taylor, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene while two other victims were taken to the hospital. One of them is in critical condition but the other’s injury is not life-threatening.
Police say that there was a gathering of friends in the apartment when a fight broke out and escalated to several people firing guns inside the apartment. Evidence indicates that this was an isolated incident and no additional suspects are being sought.
The death of Saveyon Taylor marks the 16th homicide for 2022, as compared to nine homicides during this same time period in 2021.
