We greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am so blessed to be here, and so are you. Even, if you do not think so. In spite of all our situations, all of us at sometime will have problems. How we cope with them is very important. Life is a challenge, but as a Christian, it’s supposed to grow us. What doesn’t deter us makes us stronger.
We are not only speaking of spiritual things this month, it is national Black History Month. It is truly a blessing. We are in the year 2020, 20-means redemption in God’s arithmetic. They made the children of Israel ransom redemption money at the age of 20 years old. Exodus 30:14: “Everyone that passed among them that are numbered from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the Lord. (Contribution).”
There are 20 names associated with the house of Israel in the book of Ruth: (4-18). 1. Elimelech 2. Naomi 3. Chilion 4. Mahlon 5. Ruth 6. Boaz 7. Rachel 8. Leah 9. Israel 10. Judah 11. Tamar 12. Tharez 13. Hezron 14. Ram 15. Amminadad 16. Nahshon 17. Salmon 18. Obed 19. Jesse 20. David. There you have it. Twenty, the number of redemption.
There are much, much more, but we can’t explain it all in one column. We need to make a change this year, and walk in the light. Psalm 119:105: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path. The Lord can only be that light if you allow him. Follow light, and avoid darkness.: John 8:12: “Jesus I am the light of the world: He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of light.” II Peter 2:21: “For it been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after that have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.”
OK, let me talk a little about Black History month. Something I am very proud of and we should be, for the sacrifices so many of us made. The year 2020, the year of vision, not only that we should see in the natural, but also in the spirit. But if we don’t know God, we cannot discern.
I am proud to say we had our first black president, who served two terms. I was so proud to see such dignity. No matter what was going on in the White House, or television appearance, he was a class act. There were no outbursts on television, or his personal agenda. You never saw him sweat. I’m sure president Barack Obama’s feelings were hurt numerous of times, but he maintained.
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I do hope you are blessed with this reading.”
May God richly bless you.
