1 dead after head-on crash between SUV, UPS truck in Davidson County, highway patrol says

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was killed in a head-on crash in the Piedmont Triad, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

According to troopers, on March 3, around 10:45 a.m., they responded to a crash on Gus Hill Road in Davidson County. They say that a Ford Explorer traveling south on the road crossed the center line and hit a stopped UPS truck head-on.

The driver of the SUV, Roy Clinton Brewer Jr., 74, of Clemmons, died at the scene.

The UPS truck driver was taken to the hospital but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The road was closed for two hours while troopers investigated. No charges will be filed.
