WATCH: Gov. Ralph Northam announces that Virginia will enter Phase One on Friday

Gov. Ralph Northam is giving an update to Virginians on the state’s response to the coronavirus.

Northam announced that Virginia will indeed enter Phase One on Friday during his update.

He also announced that on Monday, 11 DMV customer service centers will be open in a limited capacity across the state.

Unlike the rest of the state, Northern Virginia will be able to remain in Phase Zero until May 29.

The governor also announced that after Memorial Day, rather than three updates a week, he will only deliver updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

As of Wednesday, there are 26,746 coronavirus cases in Virginia, according to the Virginia Department of Health. Across the state, 927 people have died.
