COLFAX, N.C. (WGHP) — You’ll find lots of small businesses across the Triad, but not many are using technology to reach new customers.
Blade Ewing is the guy behind Ramen Time, a company that helps bring a lot of characters to life. He builds light boxes, using images of popular characters in movies, video games, anime and graphic novels.
Ewing told us that people are usually surprised to see their favorites in such a bright new way. He’s able to make them by using 3-D printing, whether he uses files he creates for each one or through files developed by other hobbyists.
His shop at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market is busy with customers for a wide range of 3-D printed items, but the light boxes are quickly becoming a signature piece. Ramen Time is located in the Market Shops area at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market in Colfax, and they’re open Thursday through Sunday. He also sells some of his products at Antiques & Geeks Collectibles on Sunset in Asheboro.
