Greetings, to each and everyone. I am truly honored to fellowship with all of you readers. I do hope you will enjoy the column.
It gives me great pleasure to be obedient. We know obedience is better than sacrifice. It is a blessed and holy time we are in. In just a few short weeks it will be Lenten season. As I mentioned in last week’s column, it’s a time of repentance.
I am sure we all know about Lenten season — a time of contriteness, and remorse, apologetic, regretful, and sorrowful. I am sure we all have something we could repent about if we are honest. I, myself, have to repent every day. it may be something we say, or do that God is not pleased with. Even a thought.
We must stand for righteousness! We are celebrating black history month. When I was in school and college we didn’t have Black History Month. What I learned was experiencing it, or researching about our history. We all learned from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. What a peaceful man. And all his followers.
But you cannot follow a peaceful leader without being peaceful yourself. There were many that were peaceful, but he was truly sent by God.
I also must expound on our former president, Barack Obama. A man with such class. I never saw him without composure, calm, cool, and a real gentleman. Never name calling. He served two terms. Somebody must have believed in him.
The late Rosa Parks stood for what she believed in. She refused to move to the back of the bus. Standing for righteousness. Isaiah 40:8 the grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand ever. Psalm 5:5 the foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Psalm 20:8 they are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. A house divided cannot stand. Mark 3:24-26 and if a kingdom be divided against itself, that home cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself it will not stand. And if Satan Rise up against himself, and be divided he cannot stand, but hath an end. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast, therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore having loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him and he with me.
Well, I must close now. It’s so much to tell. Until next time, keep looking up.
