(WGHP) — Do you feel that chill in the air? No, it’s not the cold front headed our way. It’s the dawn of the Halloween season, and it starts this September.
Kersey Valley Spookywoods and Woods of Terror, the Piedmont Triad’s biggest haunted attractions, are both set to kick off their 2025 season this month. Woods of Terror opens on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Spookywoods opens Friday, Sept. 25.
If you’re hoping to get a fright this year, we’ve compiled the hours and ticket prices for September, October and November, and you can learn about what to expect this year.
We’ve also included details on how to get a job at these haunted attractions in case you would rather be the fright.

What’s happening this year?
Spookywoods boasts an expanded attraction for 2025 with new themes and sets. The attraction says the art department and build crew have worked full-time year-round to ensure Spookywoods has a fresh experience to offer this fall.
This year’s cast of characters includes the attraction’s long-familiar resident witch Endora, the straw-stuffed scarer Kersey Crow, the horrors of healthcare Dr. Gout and Nurse Nauseous, as well as many more.
When can I go?
Spookywoods kicks off its 2025 season at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.
The site will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Sundays starting Oct. 12.
It will be open the day before Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 30, and Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31.
The last day will be Nov. 1.
Be sure to check the website for exact hours.
General admission tickets cost $35 on Friday, Sept. 26, and $40 on Saturday, Sept. 27. In October, tickets cost $40 on Fridays, $50 on Saturdays and $35 on Sundays and the day before Halloween. Tickets cost $45 on Saturday, Nov. 1.
VIP Fast Passes cost $65 in September, on Fridays and Sundays in October and on Nov. 1. They cost $75 on Saturdays in October.
Spookywoods says that the average wait time for general admission is 1-1.5 hours. The VIP Fast Pass shortens that wait to about 30 minutes.
Immediate access costs $99 and includes a laynard and pass, a 6×8 group photo and folder and 20% off in the gift shop.
Parking costs $10 to $20.

What’s happening this year?
This year, the Woods of Terror has 17 attractions to inspire fear, and it starts before you’ve even crossed the threshold. On the Monster Midway, you will encounter nightmares and terrors that will set the scene as you enter the Woods.
Then, see an apocalyptic world ravaged by fungi in “Fungus Among Us,” AI takes a turn for the terrifying in “Hardwired,” step into Vecna’s horrifying home in “Eleven’s Nightmare” and venture into dark forests of Eastern Europe to find “Baba Yaga.” There’s “Jack’s Revenge,” “Neon Nightmare,” “The Mortuary” and many more attractions waiting within the Woods of Terror.
When can I go?
Woods of Terror is set to kick off its 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Through the end of September, Woods of Terror will be open on Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. General admission tickets cost $40, fast pass costs $65 and all access costs $85.
Come Oct. 1, Woods of Terror will be open Fridays 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The park will also be open the day before Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 30, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Halloween itself, Friday, Oct. 31, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
On Fridays and Sundays in October, as well as the day before Halloween, general admission tickets will cost $40, fast pass $65 and all access $85. On Saturdays and on Halloween, general admission tickets will cost $50, fast pass $65 and all access $85.
Woods of Terror will be open on Nov. 1 and 2 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Nov. 1, general admission tickets will cost $50, fast pass $65 and all access $85. On Nov. 2, general admission tickets will cost $40, fast pass $65 and all access $85.
Nov. 7 and 8 will mark the season’s last two days, and Woods of Terror will be presenting “Terror in the Darkness,” a lights-out experience at those same shortened hours. General admission tickets will cost $40, fast pass $65 and all access $85.
Woods of Terror says that the average wait time for general admission on a busy night is 1-1.5 hours. Fast Pass shortens that wait to 10-30 minutes.
All Access includes immediate access, plus a keepsake 2025 Lanyard and All Access Pass, a pair of 3D glasses, three free throws at the axe-throwing booth, a free gift in the Bootique, a free 360 video, $5 off any regularly priced t-shirt or hoodie and a buy-one-get-one ticket for Terror in the Darkness.
Parking is cash only from $10 to $20.

And if you didn’t know, the McLaurin team does more than just Halloween scares. Events also include the McLaurin Farm Country Christmas which runs from Thanksgiving through Christmas, and there is also an on-site farm market as well as drive-in movies during the summer.
