ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Asheboro police say a suspect was barricaded inside a home on Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday at about noon, Asheboro police confirmed that a suspect was barricaded in a home on West Presnell Street, near Ross Street.
Four people who were in the home, described by police as “elderly,” were evacuated and are being taken to a local senior facility.
A SWAT officer with the Asheboro Police Department tells FOX8 the suspect was removed from the home.
According to police, Asheboro officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.
The suspect reportedly went into a home and barricaded himself inside.
