For the second year in a row and for the third time in 4four years, the North Surry High School yearbook staff has been inducted into the Walsworth Gallery of Excellence.
“This prestigious honor is awarded each year to only the most distinguished yearbooks that Walsworth prints,” the school said in announcing the recognition. “Only a limited number of the yearbooks receive this unique distinction. The selections are based on quality demonstration of theme, coverage, design, photography and copy.”
“It was so rewarding to be inducted into the Gallery of Excellence, especially since a lot the work we had to do remotely,” said Kassidy Puckett, editor in chief of the North Surry Yearbook. “There was a lot of pressure to make this year’s yearbook meet the standard of last year’s.”
Yearbook aficionados from across the United States will view the Gallery of Excellence. Yearbook representatives share these books at workshops and with school yearbook staffs to inspire and motivate. “These yearbooks are modeled as examples of remarkable student journalism at conventions across the country,” the school said in its statement.
In his award letter, Don Walsworth, president of the printing company wrote, “Our company’s reputation of superior quality is enhanced by Gallery books such as yours. Your yearbook’s induction is a commendation of your staff’s outstanding work and commitment to excellence.”
