On Saturday, Feb. 29, several Meadowview Magnet Middle School students competed in the Science Olympiad Winston-Salem Regional Finals at Wake Forest University, with several of the students placing in the competition.
Will Bodrogi and Isabella Jackson took third place in the machines category, while Morgan Flinchum and Sam Morgan finished fourth in the “games on” category.
The mission of the North Carolina Science Olympiad is to attract and retain the pool of K-12 students entering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics degrees and careers in North Carolina through tournaments. These tournaments consist of different hands-on, interactive, challenging and inquiry-based events that balance between the various disciplines of biology, earth science, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering and technology.
