RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Randleman man arrested in Ramseur this week faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, domestic violence and assault on a female, according to a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office news release.
On Friday, the RCSO responded to Jordan Road in Ramseur about an alarm and communicating threats.
Arriving deputies determined the call to be a kidnapping. The victim had escaped from the captor, identified as Rhonwyn Jay Buffkin, 54, of Randleman, and went to a business, prompting the employees to call 911.
Buffkin then left the area.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Buffkin for:
- felony second-degree kidnapping
- misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
- misdemeanor interference with emergency communication
- misdemeanor communicating threats
- misdemeanor assault on a female
The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On Tuesday, Buffkin was found in Ramseur.
He was arrested, taken to the Randolph County Detention Center and served his warrant.
He was issued no bond.
