Local student selected to attend science, math school

Surry Early College High School student Jasmine Narehood has been accepted into the Class of 2022 at the North Carolina School of Science and Math.

“(The) North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics focuses on providing students a world-class education,” Early College officials said in announcing her selection. “In the classroom and out, they equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to design their futures. For more than 35 years, NCSSM has been opening doors of opportunity for talented young North Carolinians.”

Jasmine will start the residential program at the North Carolina School of Science and Math in the fall.
