TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida State University linebacker was sent to a hospital after he was shot in Havana, Florida on Sunday night, the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office said FSU football player Ethan Pritchard was hurt in a shooting near 16th Ave and Havana Heights Apartments, which is about 15 miles from Tallahassee.
He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, where he remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the shooting.

No other details about the shooting or Pritchard’s condition have been released.
Prtichard signed with FSU in December. The Orlando Sentinel reported that he did not play Saturday in the team’s season-opening victory over Alabama.
FSU Athletics issued the following statement about Pritchard’s condition:
“Ethan Pritchard, a freshman linebacker on Florida State’s football team, is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound last night while visiting family in Havana, Florida. The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals, and asks that their privacy be respected at this time. Further updates will be provided as they are available.”
