Expect rain and wind for the weekend in the Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — Low pressure off the coast is expected to bring rain far inland overnight and Sunday.

We can expect around an inch of rain in the eastern counties, like Alamance and Chatham, and much less as you move west toward Forsyth County. Winds could pick up to 25 mph as far west as Forsyth and Guilford counties. Much heavier rains and much stronger winds will be along the I-95 corridor, and residents along the coast are being warned about beach erosion and possible flooded roads.

Rain and breezy conditions will continue in the Piedmont throughout the day Sunday and possibly very early Monday morning before the rain moves quickly to the northeast.

We should see plenty of sun by Monday afternoon, but it will remain breezy through Tuesday.
