UNION COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Two people were arrested after police found dozens of animals, both dead and alive, at a Union home.
The Union Police Department responded to a home on Park Drive in May 2025, finding the home to be unsafe and unlivable, with feces covering the floor of the residence.
Police said 39 cats were discovered in the home, three dogs, and 20 dead cats in an unplugged freezer.

A 17-year-old was also left at the home, police said. The teen’s parents were enroute to Florida, according to the warrants.
34-year-old Justin Bowen Capps and 41-year-old Alicia Marie Capps were arrested on Thursday morning and were charged with unlawful neglect towards a child and three counts of ill treatment of animals.
They are being held at the Union County Detention Center, both on a $25,000 bond.
