Dobson church holds note-burning celebration

Dobson Church of Christ recently celebrated two major milestones for the church, when the congregation and guests marked the pay-off of debt associated with a building project completed in 2016. The church also celebrated the completion of seven years as a congregation at the Dobson location.

Special guests attending the service included Ted Ashby and Lesa Hensley with Surrey Bank & Trust, which provided the finanicing needed to complete the project. Johnny Mullins, chairman of the church leadership team, expressed thanks and appreciateion to Surrey Bank & Trust for their confidence and faith in our church.

To celebrate being debt-free, a copy of the bank note was burned followed by applause from the congregation.

Pastor Ralph Sproles closed the service by pointing out that the church’s success is the result of the Lord’s blessings because of the church members’ faith in and love for him. A fellowship meal followed the service with approzimately 130 people in attendance.
