Community input sought for Alamance County long-range transportation plans

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The Burlington-Graham Metropolitan Planning Organization is seeking community input on its BGMPO 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, a long-range transportation plan for Burlington, Graham, Mebane and the surrounding area.

According to a press release, the plan will “look at the different ways people move within and through the region today, including motor vehicles, bicycles, walking, public transportation, and rail. The planning process includes analyzing how the region continues to grow and how future growth and other anticipated changes affect future transportation needs.”

At the public input site for the 2050 MTP, users can identify transportation issues on an interactive map, complete a brief online survey, post digital sticky notes to an ideas wall and react to ideas posted by others.

The results from the survey and draft plan will be shared at a public workshop at the Alamance
Community College (ACC) Dillingham Conference Center on March 26 from 5 p.m to 7 p.m., the press release says.
