Check this out! Dog rescued from a storm drain by Raleigh Fire Department

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A dog that fell between 10 to 15 feet into a storm drain Saturday was rescued by emergency crews in Raleigh.

The Raleigh Fire Department told CBS 17 that Dagger, a medium-sized shepherd mix, was trapped in a storm drain around 2 p.m. on Laurel Glen Drive.

When Engine 26 arrived at the scene, firefighters, along with Wake County Animal Control, were able to safely get the dog out.

According to an on-duty chief, Raleigh fire crews on scene used a tripod hoisting system with two pulleys and several ropes to lift Dagger around 15 feet out of the storm drain.

In a few minutes and some good, strong tugs at the ropes, Dagger was free and returned to his family.

Officials told CBS 17 Saturday that the dog is doing fine.
