The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Excellence in Business Awards event on Tuesday March 30 at 7 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be an online via the Chamber’s YouTube Channel. The awards were presented in advance to the winners and digitally recorded for the March 30 presentation.
Ten awards will be presented by the Chamber and include the following:
• Business Longevity Award
• Ambassador of the Year Award
• Administrative Professional of the Year Award
• Outstanding Public Service Award
• Excellence in Tourism Award
• Agribusiness of the Year Award
• Business and Education Partner Award
• Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award
• Pandemic Leadership Award (NEW for 2021)
• Business of the Year Award
The community is invited to join the event online. Access to the YouTube event is free at www.youtube.com. Viewers are encouraged to purchase a ticket to support the Chamber. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber website: www.mtairyncchamber.org.
Chamber officials said the event and awards would not be possible with out local sponsors. Those include Frontier Natural Gas, Surry County Economic Development Partnership, Surry Communications, The Mount Airy News, RidgeCrest, Cibirix, Carport Central, Mount Airy Tourism Development Authority, Duke Energy, Wayne Farms and Surry Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation.
