Appalachian State firing coach Shawn Clark, sources say

BOONE, N.C. (WGHP) — Another North Carolina college football coach bites the dust.

According to Pete Thamel, a senior college football writer for ESPN, Appalachian State is firing Shawn Clark.

App State finished the most recent season 5-6 and has a 40-24 record in the past six years, Thamel said.

Shawn Clark has been the head coach of App State’s football program since 2019. Clark graduated from App State with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1998 and earned a master’s degree in education from Louisville in 2003, according to App State’s website.
