4 charged after Eden shooting on Summit Loop, police say

EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) — Multiple people have been charged after a shooting in Eden, according to an Eden Police Department news release.

Officers with the EPD were sent to the 700 block of Summit Loop when they were told about a shooting.

Arriving officers found a home and a vehicle that had been shot.

After an investigation, four people were charged in connection with the shooting.

Darren O’reilly Averett, of Danville, Virginia, was charged with felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property.

Jazmyne Lacy Mcghee, of Reidsville, was charged with felony conspiracy and misdemeanor child abuse. She was given a $5,000 bond.

Drake O. Averett, of Danville, Virginia, is currently wanted and charged with felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property and misdemeanor discharging a firearm in the city.

Jacorey Jamont Hairtson, of Danville, Virginia, is currently wanted and charged with felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property and misdemeanor discharging a firearm in the city.

The investigation is ongoing.
