GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — An 18-year-old is dead as the result of a crash on Holts Chapel Road, according to the Greensboro Police Department.
At around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Greensboro police, firefighters and Guilford County EMS came to the 3700 block of Holts Chapel Road after getting a report of a vehicle fire.
Investigators say that Jaden Buie, 18, of Greensboro, was driving a 2022 Kia Sorento east on Holts Chapel Road when he ran off the road to the right and struck a tree. The crash caused the car to overturn and catch fire.
Buie died at the scene.
Police say that excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
The GPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
